Each year the Foundation will award scholarships to survivors of sex trafficking.. These funds, which are made available for a one-year period that begins on September 1 and ends on August 31, can be used for education, vocational training, advocacy programs, entrepreneurial enterprises, or other survivor-led initiatives or activities that increase the ability of a survivor of trafficking to serve as a voice against human sexual slavery or that contribute to a survivor’s integration into her community and the reduction of social stigma.. A number of these scholarships will also be available to support continuing education or other activities that enhance the capacity of staff members of organizations dedicated to the eradication of human trafficking to carry out their work more  ...   and who has a specific plan of action or project that will enable her to act, or increase her impact, as an advocate against human trafficking or whose work will lead to a reduction in the social stigma experienced by trafficked people; or, a staff member at an anti-trafficking service provider or other agency to pursue educational or other opportunities that will enhance his or her capacity to work more effectively to end trafficking or its social stigma.. The Somaly Mam Foundation is delighted to provide this opportunity for survivors of sex trafficking and their allies to strengthen their ability to speak out against human trafficking and its social stigma.. After attending a Performing Arts school in Canada, Chriqui moved to Los Angeles.. Upon arriving, Chriqui quickly made a name for herself in the U.. S.. with  ...   to build upon her career in film and television.. She starred alongside Adam Sandler in Columbia Pictures comedy “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan,” as well as Adrien Brody in the film “Cadillac Records.. ” Chriqui recently completed production on director Renny Harlin’s film “Georgia,” where she plays the lead female role.. On television, she continues to reprise her role as Sloan on the HBO Comedy series "Entourage" opposite Kevin Connolly.. Emmanuelle is also a strong activist for Enough Project’s RAISE Hope for Congo campaign to protect and empower Congolese women and girls from the violence that they face in the Congo..

    Descriptive info: IN RON’S WORDS….. Ron Livingston was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.. He graduated from Marion High School and attended Yale University, where he received B.. A.. degrees in Theater and English.. His first film was Dolly Parton's "Straight Talk," in 1992.. Subsequent to that, he appeared in "Swingers" and also played the male lead in "Office Space," which co-starred Jennifer Aniston.. He gave his first serious role in HBO's "Band of Brothers" as Captain Lewis Nixon.. Going beyond nice-guy roles, Livingston played a Hollywood  ...   an unfortunate English teacher in "Pretty Persuasion"(2005).. His other movie credits include "Holly", "The Time Travelers Wife" and "Relative Strangers.. " He also appeared as Jack Berger, Carrie's boyfriend, in the sixth season of "Sex and the City.. ".. It was Livingston's work in the film "Holly" that first brought him into contact with the issue of human trafficking and sexual slavery.. This film was shot entirely on location in Cambodia and Livingston became intimately aware of the depth and breadth of this problem..

Susan Sarandon is the eldest of nine children and was born in New York City.. She attended The Catholic University of America from 1964 to 1968 where she attained a BA in drama, working with noted drama coach and master teacher Father Gilbert Hartke.. Her first big screen appearance was in the movie "Joe," where she appeared with Peter Boyle.. Susan also appeared in the cult favorite "The Rocky Horror Picture Show.. " That same year, she played the female lead in "The Great Waldo Pepper," opposite Robert Redford.. Sarandon became a "household name" after her magnificent  ...   1996 for her work in "Dead Man Walking".. Other films include "Witches of Eastwick" (1987), "Stepmom" (1998), "Anywhere but Here" (1999), "Cradle Will Rock" (1999), "The Banger Sisters" (2002), "Shall We Dance" (2004), "Alfie" (2004), "Elizabethtown" (2005) and "Romance Cigarettes" (2007)..
